In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong emphasized that the Vietnam Tourism Awards 2025 aim to foster service quality, diversify products, and enhance professionalism among tourism enterprises, thereby strengthening Vietnam’s tourism brand as a spearhead economic sector.

He affirmed that Vietnam possesses favorable conditions for tourism development, with strong support from the Party and the State to maximize its potential. To achieve the Government’s 2025 targets of welcoming 25 million international visitor arrivals, serving 150 million domestic trips, and positioning Vietnam as a safe, friendly, and attractive destination in the region and the world, the Ministry is working closely with ministries, localities, and businesses to: (1) Establish a smart tourism ecosystem through comprehensive digital transformation, with visitor experience at the center. (2) Launch a nationwide campaign for professional service, courteous behavior, and a green, clean, beautiful environment, symbolized by the “Vietnam Tourism Smile”. (3) Develop diverse, unique tourism products and services based on distinctive strengths, heritage values, and cultural identity, aligned with new trends such as luxury leisure travel, wellness tourism, agricultural and regional specialties, and culinary tourism. (4) Improve transport infrastructure to better connect destinations. (5) Strengthen targeted marketing campaigns, maximize media power, and leverage the support of overseas diplomatic missions and digital platforms. (6) Promote bilateral and multilateral cooperation through international tourism organizations.

Deputy Minister Ho An Phong expressed strong confidence that, with the Party’s leadership, the Government’s decisive direction, the collaboration of ministries and localities, and the joint efforts of the business community, Vietnam’s tourism industry will continue to thrive, making significant contributions to national development and further elevating Vietnam’s image as a friendly, appealing destination on the regional and global tourism map.

The Party and the State have identified tourism as a spearhead economic sector that provides livelihoods for millions, revitalizes communities, fosters cultural exchange, builds friendship, safeguards peace, and promotes Vietnam’s image as a hospitable nation”
